Return To TopThe main objective of the National Laboratory for Social Innovation (TINLAB), established in autumn 2020, is to implement innovations that contribute to the well-being of society and foster new social partnerships and cooperations.
The mission of the Knowledge Centre is to support social innovators and social innovation activities, and to provide knowledge management services. TINLAB contributes to the publicity of social innovation and to the development of professional frameworks.

EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY (consortium leader)
Eötvös Loránd University situated in Budapest is a focal point of top-class higher education, research and university third mission activities related to tangible and intangible cultural heritage, social innovation, digitalization and more. ELTE offers the widest range of higher education qualifications Hungary and is the most popular university in the country (according to Hungarian student application numbers). The institution is in the top 3-4% higher education institutions in the world according to international rankings (QS Ranking, Shanghai Ranking). The institution has 1300+ Erasmus+ agreements with 500+ partner universities and a proud member of 9 international university network. ELTE welcomes international students from more than 120 countries.
The mission of ELTE is to preserve and increase national and universal culture and literacy, to cultivate scholarship, to pass on scientific knowledge, and to express and fulfil the substantive, long-term needs of Hungarian society and of humanity as a whole. ELTE aims at training accomplished intellectuals in possession of state-of-the-art knowledge and is committed to support the Explorer-Maker-Innovator generation.
UNIVERSITY OF MISKOLC (consortium partner)
As a campus of knowledge and community, the University of Miskolc is the most important knowledge center of Northern Hungary. It offers degrees in over 300 fields of study within its eight faculties. The history of the University can be traced back to 1735, when the Selmecbánya Institute of Mining and Metallurgy was founded. In 2014, the Student Traditions of Selmec, which are still alive today, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In the focus of the tasks are on gaining, applying and sharing knowledge – and not just from books and lectures, but also the knowledge (and wisdom) that comes from encountering new situations and a variety of people. The University pays special attention to talent management, students can participate in 8 vocational colleges and 546 talent management programs. The University is involved in research projects, also at the European level, and in R&D cooperation with commercial partners, both Hungarian and international/multinational. It continuously expands the involvement of the university and its citizens (teachers, staff and students) in the community, especially in the regional economic sphere, which includes many multinational firms. It is constantly growing the international members of our university. The University has more than 600 bilateral mobility agreements with 64 countries.
NETWORK FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (HÁRFA) (consortium partner)
The Network for Regional Development Foundation (HÁRFA), founded in 2006, is dedicated to fostering balanced regional development and strengthening social cohesion. We achieve this by facilitating networking and collaboration among economic, academic, civil, and public sector institutions. Our activities encompass network building, knowledge sharing, and joint project development. HÁRFA is at the forefront of cross-border and transnational cooperation, with a focus on innovative solutions. Our flagship projects, including 4IM, GINEVRA, and GRESODI, address pressing challenges such as social inclusion, urban development, and rural revitalization. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to creating sustainable and resilient communities.
Within the TINLAB project we are responsible for the innovative pilot project system and the mentoring network, and we are also leading two thematic networks. As a public benefit organization, HÁRFA is committed to social impact and sustainable growth. We are committed to research, education, and capacity building to empower communities and drive positive change. Our work is underpinned by a strong belief in the power of partnership and collaboration to address complex regional challenges.
UNIVERSITY OF PANNONIA (consortium partner)
The University of Pannonia is a significant institution of higher education in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. The programmes offered by the university, which has a considerable professional tradition and a great past, cover nearly all areas of sciences. This multidisciplinary university guarantees unique possibilities to obtain up-to-date knowledge in humanities, economics, engineering, pedagogy, social- and natural sciences, as well as extra-curricular professional and scientific activities. Tutors and researchers succeed in different project applications both in Hungary and in the European Union.
The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pannonia contributes to the functioning and improvement of the public and civil society with its high quality education, research and development.
As a student-centred business school, the FBE provides a caring environment and cultivates an open-minded approach and ethical behaviour. By offering research based, practice-oriented education, it prepares graduates who support and create positive change in their communities. The Faculty of Business and Economics was the first ever faculty to receive the Hungarian Higher Education Quality Award for faculties in 2008. In 2014 the Faculty reached an important milestone; it became a member of the AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
The Faculty has a recognised and powerful Doctoral School, in which our excellent professors lead research groups in the field of economics, business and management. Having recognised the importance of attracting more and more well-known, respected lecturers to the University of Pannonia, the Faculty of Business and Economics is aiming to build strong and long-lasting relationships between tutors by involving them in diverse research cooperation projects as well as inviting them to teach in our programmes. Also, realizing the necessity of making education more real-life based, the University has already taken steps in order to strengthen its relations to companies in its region.
